What a rental car costs in Damascus in 2026, class by class

5 min read

Eight white model cars from economy to full-size SUV standing on rising stacks of price cards, with a key on a red tag

A rental car in Damascus costs from 55 USD a day for an economy car to 125 USD a day for a seven-seat SUV, with a premium Chevrolet Tahoe at 450 USD. Long hires bring the daily figure down, a month starts at 1,240 USD, delivery inside Damascus and to the airport is free, and no deposit is taken. Prices are as of October 2026.

"How much is a car?" is the first thing almost everyone asks us, and the honest answer has more than one number in it. Here they all are in one place, with what each one includes. Every figure on this page is in US dollars, because that is how we price, and every one is dated, because prices move.

The daily rate, class by class

These are the standard daily rates for a short hire. Each line names the model you actually reserve — on our site you choose a car, not a category you are allocated at the counter.

Class Model (or similar) Seats Per day
Economy Nissan Sylphy 2025 5 55 USD
Sedan Hyundai Elantra 2025 5 57 USD
Sedan Kia K3 2026 5 65 USD
Compact SUV Kia Seltos 2025 5 65 USD
Compact SUV Hyundai Creta 2025 5 70 USD
Standard SUV Kia Sportage 2026 5 100 USD
7-Seat SUV Kia Sorento 2026 7 125 USD
Premium SUV Chevrolet Tahoe 2026 7 450 USD

All automatic. Rates as of October 2026; the live figure for your dates is on our cars page.

The long-hire rate: when the daily figure drops

Keep a car longer and the rate per day comes down. There are two thresholds, depending on the car.

From the eleventh day for the compact SUVs and the Tahoe: the Kia Seltos drops to 52 USD a day, the Hyundai Creta to 56 USD and the Tahoe to 360 USD.

From the thirtieth day for the rest: the Nissan Sylphy drops to 41 USD a day, the Elantra to 43 USD, the Kia K3 to 49 USD, the Sportage to 75 USD and the Sorento to 94 USD.

You do not need to ask for this. Enter your dates and the booking page applies the rate that fits the length of the hire.

The monthly price

For a stay, a project or a household whose own car is off the road, the monthly car rental page prices thirty days at a time: from 1,240 USD for the Sylphy, 1,300 USD for the Elantra, 1,470 USD for the K3, 2,255 USD for the Sportage and 2,815 USD for the Sorento. Servicing, roadside assistance and the hire's insurance cover are inside that figure.

Whether a month beats the days in it depends on the car and on how many days you really need. We did that arithmetic properly in daily, monthly or a lease.

What comes on top — and what does not

Most of the questions about price are really questions about what is not in the headline number. Here is the full list.

Delivery. Free to Damascus International Airport and anywhere inside Damascus, and free if you collect from our branch in the city centre. Elsewhere it is a flat fee added to the quote: 40 USD to Homs or Hama, 50 USD to Latakia or Tartus, 55 USD to Aleppo city or Aleppo airport.

Distance. Every rate includes 150 km a day. Beyond that it is 0.10 USD a kilometre, read off the odometer when the car comes back. A day across the city will not come near the allowance; a fortnight of family visits between Damascus and Homs usually stays inside it as well.

Fuel. Full to full. The car leaves with a full tank and should come back with one; if it does not, we refill it and charge what the fuel cost — nothing more.

Late return. Two hours of grace. After that, a further day.

Deposit. None. No cash held, no card hold, no promissory note. We wrote about why we stopped taking one.

Cancellation. Free, and no card is taken when you book, so reserving early costs nothing.

Three totals, worked out

These are examples of the arithmetic, not quotes. Your own total is on the booking page.

A weekend in Damascus, economy car, collected at the airport. Three days at 55 USD is 165 USD. Airport delivery is free. Total: 165 USD plus the fuel you use.

Ten days visiting family, Kia Sportage, delivered to Homs. Ten days at 100 USD is 1,000 USD, plus 40 USD delivery. Total: 1,040 USD plus fuel.

Two weeks, Hyundai Creta. From day eleven the rate is 56 USD, so the booking page prices fourteen days at the long-hire rate. Compare that with ten days, because fourteen days can cost less than you expect.

Why our prices are in dollars

We price in US dollars so that the figure you see in Istanbul, Berlin or Dubai is the figure you pay in Damascus three weeks later. A price in a currency that moves weekly is a price you cannot plan a trip around.

A short list before you compare prices

  • Compare the total for your dates, not the daily rate in isolation.
  • Check whether your hire crosses day 11 or day 30 — the rate changes there.
  • Add delivery only if the car is going outside Damascus.
  • Ask any other company you are comparing whether it holds a deposit, and how much.
  • Check the distance allowance against your route.

Rates for corporate fleets are quoted separately on the corporate leasing page. For anything else, the counter answers on +963980436125.
