The road into town

The airport sits roughly 25 km southeast of the city, and the drive in is one straight shot along the airport highway before it feeds into the southern ring road. Traffic is light on the highway itself; the delay, when there is one, is at a checkpoint or in the last few kilometres as you come into the built-up edge of the city. Budget 30 to 45 minutes for the centre, a little less for Jaramana or the eastern suburbs, and more at the end of the working day.

From the ring road, exits reach most of where visitors are actually going: Mazzeh and Kafr Sousseh to the west, Abu Rummaneh and Malki north of the centre, and Bab Touma and the Old City if you are staying inside the walls. Our own office is in Al-Mazraa, near Damascus City Centre, so you are never far from us once you are in town.

Driving on from Damascus

Most people who pick up at the airport do not stay in Damascus the whole trip. The M5 north is the spine of the country: Homs is around 160 km and takes about two hours, Aleppo is roughly 350 km and a long half-day, and Latakia and Tartus branch west from the same road for the coast. If you already know you are ending the trip in another city, say so when you book — where you leave the car changes what we plan for.

Where exactly do we meet at Damascus airport?

In the arrivals hall, after you clear passport control and customs. Our driver waits there with a sign showing your name, hands over the keys and the car documents, and walks you out to the vehicle. It works the same way at either terminal — tell us which one your flight uses if you know it.

Is airport delivery really free?

Yes. Delivery to Damascus International Airport costs nothing extra, so the price you are quoted is the price you pay for the rental itself. Delivery is also free anywhere inside Damascus. Only the other cities we serve — Aleppo, Homs, Hama, Latakia and Tartus — carry a $50 delivery fee.

Why do you need my flight number?

Because arrival times at DAM move. With the flight number we can see whether you landed early or late and time the handover accordingly, instead of leaving a car and a driver waiting outside arrivals for an hour. It is the single most useful thing you can give us when booking an airport pickup.

How long is the drive from the airport into central Damascus?

Usually 30 to 45 minutes. The airport is about 25 km southeast of the city and the route is a single highway that joins the southern ring road, so the road itself is fast. Delays come from checkpoints and from city traffic in the final stretch, particularly in the late afternoon.

Can I pick up at the airport and return the car somewhere else?

Tell us at the time of booking where you want to leave the car and we will arrange it. Plenty of visitors land in Damascus, drive north on the M5, and finish in Aleppo or on the coast. Knowing the drop-off city in advance lets us plan the car and the driver around it.

Can you deliver to my hotel in Damascus instead of the airport?

Yes, and it is also free. Delivery anywhere inside Damascus carries no charge, so if you would rather settle in first and take the car the next morning, give us the hotel name and address and a time, and we will bring it to the door.
