The car is driven up from Damascus

Tab has one branch, at Damascus City Centre in Al-Mazraa, and every car rental in Aleppo we arrange starts there: the car goes north on the M5 through Homs and Hama, about 355 km, and is handed to you in Aleppo. Delivery anywhere in the city, or to Aleppo International Airport, is $50, added to your quote before you pay. You pick the spot when you book.

Because the car has to make that drive — roughly five hours in normal conditions — the one thing worth getting right is notice. Tell us the day and the hour you want the keys and we will work backwards from that.

Where people ask us to meet them

Aleppo is Syria's second city and it is not a place to guess at. Most handovers happen in a few areas: the hotels around Saadallah al-Jabri Square, the streets of Aziziyah and Sulaymaniyah, the university district west of the centre, and New Aleppo out past the ring road. If you are here for the Citadel and the covered souq, say so — the old city's lanes are narrow and largely closed to cars, so we will suggest a handover point on its edge rather than a street you cannot drive into.

Aleppo airport

Aleppo International sits about 10 km east of the centre, one of the shortest airport-to-city runs in the country — twenty minutes or so outside the rush. It is a small, single-terminal airport, so finding each other is simple: we are outside arrivals with the car, and you drive away from the car park instead of bargaining at the taxi rank. Airport delivery is the same $50.

What Aleppo puts within reach

Aleppo is a base as much as a destination. Latakia and the coast are a run west on the M4, Idlib is about 60 km south-west, and the Bab al-Hawa crossing sits roughly 60 km to the north-west. Homs and Hama are on the way back down the M5, which makes a loop more sensible than a there-and-back trip. This is also where a car hire earns its keep: services between the northern towns run to nobody's timetable but their own, and a taxi held for the day costs more than the car does.

Send us your dates and either your flight number or an address in Aleppo, and we will come back with the car and the $50 delivery confirmed in one message.

Questions about In Aleppo

Where exactly do you meet me at Aleppo airport?

Outside the arrivals hall with the car. Aleppo International has a single passenger terminal, so there is one door everyone comes out of and no chance of missing each other. Send us your flight number when you book and we track the landing time, so a delay on the way in does not cost you the car.

How much notice do you need to deliver a car to Aleppo?

More than you would need in Damascus, because the car is driven up from our Al-Mazraa branch — about 355 km and roughly five hours on the M5. Give us the day and the hour you want the keys and we plan the departure from Damascus around it. The earlier you tell us, the wider the choice of car.

Can you deliver to my hotel near Saadallah al-Jabri Square?

Yes. The hotels around Saadallah al-Jabri Square and in Aziziyah are among our most common handover points in Aleppo, along with Sulaymaniyah, the university district and New Aleppo. Give the hotel name and we will meet you at the entrance at the agreed time. Delivery anywhere inside Aleppo is $50.

Can you bring the car to the old city or the Citadel?

Not into the old quarters themselves. The lanes around the Citadel and the covered souq are narrow, and much of that area is closed to traffic or impassable for a car. We hand over at a reachable point on the edge instead and tell you where to leave the car while you walk in.

How long is the drive from Aleppo to Latakia or to Damascus?

Latakia and the coast are west of Aleppo on the M4, a few hours depending on the road. Damascus is the way you came: back down the M5 through Hama and Homs, about 355 km. Idlib is roughly 60 km south-west, and the Bab al-Hawa crossing about 60 km north-west.
